How to Find Your Property Boundary Lines

It is important to know your property boundary lines to avoid legal disputes. Property lines divide where your property ends and your neighbour’s property begins. Two ways to get your boundary lines are through Landgate and Intramaps. Landgate offer official reports however you can get an idea for free by using Intramaps.

Through Landgate (paid)

  1. Go to:
  2. Click on ‘Titles & surveys’ in the main navigation
  3. On the Titles & surveys page, click on ‘Survey or strata plans’ box
  4. On the Survey or strata plans page, click the ‘Order now’ button
  5. On the next page, enter your address to search and click the ‘Next’ button
  6. Then click the ‘Next’ button again
  7. Enter your payment details and click next
  8. Confirm your order

Through IntraMaps (free)

  1. Type into a Google search: intramaps + your suburb (e.g. intramaps fremantle)
  2. Click on the result
  3. Once on the site, check the ‘I Agree’ box and click continue
  4. Zoom in on your street and number
  5. Once you have located the address, click on the house number which will bring up a panel on the right with detailed property info

Boundary lines can get lost or moved with time. A boundary line that is out by only a metre can cost you in the value of your property. Don’t miss out on land revenue and know your rights. Have look at your deeds or blueprints and if you do not with what you are looking at, contact a surveyor to evaluate the land. This will help you be well within your rights should any issues arise.
